Event Highlights
Sycorax Rock in BirminghamBirmingham Library . April 26th 2008. On Saturday April 26th, Hyde Fundraisers materialised in the Midlands with a special appearance at Birmingham Central Library. The monsters were based at Centre for the Child, Central Library in Birmingham.The event was free to attend and there was board games activities and much more for all the family to enjoy. Monsters on the rampage included Sycorax, Clockwork Droid, Ood, Pig Guards, Cybermen and Dalek creator Davros. K-9 was also present to keep order !

Hanley Library . March 29th 2008. Peace was shattered at the Central Library in At Hanley LibraryHanley, Stoke On Trent on Saturday March 29th with a visit from Hyde Fundraisers. Visitors confronted an array of monsters that included The Sycorax, Ood, Scarecrows, Santa's and the Dalek Pig Guards. Also on display was K-9, Clockwork Droid and one of the Daleks! There was an appearance by our Davros, who was questioned about a return to the series but as ever, Davros would not reveal anything! In addition there was an appearances at the Potteries Art Gallery & Museum of a Classic Cybermen and a Dalek. The event was attended once again by Pudsey Bear who was delighted that it raised a £1000 for the appeal!

CAMBRIDGE SCIENCE FESTIVAL. March 15th 2008. On Saturday March 15th Hyde Fundraisers attended the Cambridge University Science Festival. The group held a special Hyde Fundraisers display area Don't pork fun at The Sec Hybrid!where for a donation to support BBC Children In Need visitors were able to glimpse some of our characters and see one of our sculptors - Phil Robinson - at work on a future project for the group. Phil has already sculpted several characters for Hyde Fundraisers including Davros, Ogron, Ood and his latest to be making its debut in Cambridge will be The Pig Guards and Sec Hybrid! The Hyde Fundraisers Exhibition area was hosted inside The Pitt Building where our Virtual Photoscreen was also operating for a limited time.Our display included our Female Clockwork Droid, Auton Bride, Stepping out for Children In NeedDalek Sec and of course that well known blue Police Box. Characters making guest appearances included The Classic Cybermen, Scarecrows, Davros, Santas and the Sycorax!At the opening event with the Vice Chancellor and Carol Voorderman were our very own Doctor & Rose joined by the Ood. We are delighted to announce that thanks to donations from visitors, Cambridge University and Tenth Planet, the event has raised a fantastic £4813 for BBC Children In Need - thank you to everyone for all your support.

SPACEPORT, MERSEYSIDE . February 16th/17th 2008.he weekend of February 16th & 17th thrust top attraction Predator on the prowl'Spaceport' into the vortex of time and space when it hosted a two day celebration of tv favourite Dr Who. Hyde Fundraisers took their characters along to support fundraising for BBC Children In Need. On Saturday 16th we stepped back in time to encounter some of the celebrated characters of the Classic tv series such as The Daleks, and their evil creator, Davros ! Fresh from appearing on BBC television during Valentine's week were a squad of Cybermen - recreated from the Tom Baker adventure REVENGE OF THE CYBERMEN! Other villains and creatures from the original classic series included Auton, Tetrap, Voc Robot and a Heamovore. Sunday February 17th blasted us back into the realm of the current Doctor when we encountered some of his recent adversaries such as the creepy Scarecrows from HUMAN NATURE, the scavenging Sycorax from the Tenth Doctor's debut story THE CHRISTMAS INVASION and the sinister Clockwork Droids from GIRL IN THE FIREPLACE. Faithful robot dog K-9 came along to join our very own Doctor & Rose as they also faced The Ood, Santas and cat person Brannigan. To highlight the good cause benefitting from the weekend appearance, Pudsey Bear came and showed his support too. Non Dr Who characters that also joined the fun over the weekend included Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Batman and the Predator. The event raised £1200 for BBC Children In Need - thanks to the visitors and Spaceport for their kind support.

HYDE FUNDRAISERS ON EASTENDERS. February 14th/15th 2008. After numerous press reports and magazine articles we can confirm that in Valentine Week HYDE FUNDRAISERS appeared in episodes of EASTENDERS. You will see 4 of our REVENGE style Cybermen feature in an episode which was filmed in late November/early December. Filming took place in studio and outside the impressive St Paul's Cathedral - known for that famous scene from Patrick Troughton's story THE INVASION. They appeared descending the steps of St Pauls Cathedral on the Valentines Day episode. This was followed on the Friday with further appearances within the TIMELORD REMEMBERED Convention/Exhibition set up. The Dr Who backdrop served to play out the conclusion of the Stacy/Bradley relationship.

FAREWELL TO UPCLOSE AT MOSI. January 2008.. The year got off to a monstrous start as we said goodbye to Journalist Nigel tries to impress the female Droidthe DR WHO UPCLOSE Exhibition at the Museum Of Science & Industry in Manchester. The Exhibition has been a huge hit in 2007 and we sent it off in style by raising funds for BBC Children In Need. Characters attending the finale included Davros, Ood, Sycorax, Scarecrows, The Doctor and the female Clockwork Droid. Former Coronation Street actor Nigel Pivaro, now a successful journalist, attended the event and interviewed some members of Hyde Fundraisers for a forthcoming feature.

CHILDRENS HEART UNIT FUND PARTY . December 2007.Hyde Fundraisers once again made a guest appearance at the Childrens Heart Unit Party fun for CHUF in NewcastleFund Christmas party held at Newcastle United based at St Jame's Park. The event brought some of Hyde Fundraisers more child friendly characters to the fore such as Tigger, Pooh, Mickey, Woody and Mr Incredible. Also making guest appearances were Captain Hook, Brannigan and a classic series Dalek to excite the visitors before the arrival of Santa with his presents!

CHARITY EVENING AT MOSI. November 2nd. Our special event, in association with the Museum Of Science & Industry, was a great success on Friday November 2nd. We were delighted that tickets for this evening fundraiser SOLD OUT within a couple of weeks to support our nominated charities - BBC Children In Need & Help The Aged.On arrival guests joined us for Donna's Wedding Madame Du Pompadour we presume!Recption, just in time for The Best Man's speech........then it was time to travel back to November 13th 1913 and enjoy the choir of Farringham School For Boys......leaping to the future for a visit to the SS Madame De Pompadur......and finally they met the Timelords who had a special prisoner!

Our Special guests on the evening included.........DON GILET - appearing last Christmas as Lance, Donna'sLance, alias Don Gilet meets up with Pudsey! husband to be from THE RUNAWAY BRIDE, Don has also appeared in BABYFATHER, 55 DEGREES NORTH, IN THE LINE OF BEAUTY RUBY IN THE SMOKE (With Billie Piper) and recently completed appearances in CAPE WRATH.HYLTON COLLINS - Hylton has appeared in several BIG FINISH Dr Who Audios, along with playing The Timelord President in THE TRIAL OF DAVROS stageshow. His TV work includes THE BILL, EMMERDALE & WATERLOO ROAD. We are delighted to announce he will be playing THE BEST MAN.JOANNE ROWDEN - actress Joanne has appeared in EMMERDALE, CORONATION ST, NO ANGELS and CLOCKING OFF. Its a pleasure to welcome Joanne in the role of 'Donna'.We would like to thank MILLBURNS for all their assistance and support with our event on which including donating a buffet for those attending.. The company have been exceptionally supportive to Hyde Fundraisers during our visit to the Museum in Manchester - with special thanks to Neil, Steve and staff!

BLACKPOOL LIONS CARNIVAL. August 5th. Hyde Fundraisers, in association with the Blackpool Dr Who Exhibition supported the Lions Carnival with various characters. These included Santa, Ood, Sycorax and Clockwork Droid in the procession.

SELFRIDGES TRAFFORD CENTRE. June 16th. Hyde Fundraisers, in association with the Museum Of Science & Industry and Selfridges, attended the Trafford Centre store in Manchester on Saturday June 16th ! There was also a special visit on Friday June 15th by one of the Daleks together with an Ood and Cyberman! During the week on the lead up to the Saturday our K-9 and Sycorax Leader were displayed in the store's childrenswear department! Also present was The Absorbalof making a guestSelfridges is invaded appearance from the Museum of Science & Industry Up Close Exhibition! During the Saturday Davros, Ogron, Ood, Sycorax and Cyberman thrilled shoppers instore. In the afternoon Pudsey Bear popped along to say hello!We were delighted to work with Selfridges for this event which generated a donation of £900 for our nominated charities. Thank you to all those who attended and gave their support.

PETERBOROUGH MUSEUM & ART GALLERY. June 2nd. It's estimated over three and a half thousand visitors attended the Hyde Fundraisers Dr Who Event at Peterborough Museum on Saturday June 2nd. The event was the culmination the Museum's own classic Dr Who display with all ticket monies supporting our nominated charities for 2007 - BBC Children In Need & Help The Aged raising £4000. This included theMuseum making a donation of £500 ! The busy crowds attending were entertained by Cybermen, Ogron's, Clockwork Droids, Ood and Visitors enjoy the exhibitionSycorax whilst waiting to enter and see display items that included a range of replicas from MFX plus one of the original Droid helmets from THE RUNAWAY BRIDE. Also inside K-9 was on display together with our female Clockwork Droid and the impressive Dalek Sec! There was also a fancy dress competition that included numerous Cybermen, Clockwork Droids and more New series characters! The latest merchandise was also on sale from TENTH PLANET ! Thanks to the efforts of Museum staff and the hard work of Hyde Fundraisers members in costume and security this event has been our biggest fundraisers so far this year for our charities!

SUPERKIDS April 23rd.The Star and many Sheffield businesses celebrated Children of achievement at the SUPERKIDS awards on Monday April 23rd. Invited guests included many faces from entertainment and sport including Dean Andrews from LIFE ON MARS and singer John Parr - famous for his track 'St Elmos Fire'! There was a special guest appearance by our Honorary Member John Leeson who presented one of the awards and also accepted a donation frpm The Star for £1000 towards Hyde Fundraisers nominated charities. In attendance were The Ood, Daleks and the good Doctor's robot pooch..K-9! The event was held at the Hilton Hotel Sheffield and Hyde Fundraisers were delighted to be associated with the recognition given to these fantastic children. A special pull-out feature on the event appeared in The Star newspaper on Tuesday April 24th.The SUPERKIDS awards take place every year and adopt a different theme each time. Hyde Fundraisers were happy to contribute to this years 'Dr Who' themed event.

MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & IINDUSTRY March 30th & 31st. On March 31st Dr Who The Droids get UpcloseUpClose launched in Manchester. Hyde Fundraisers were present with a host of characters to keep visitors entertained as they visited the largest Dr Who Exhibition to feature New series characters!! Dominating the display was the impressive Empress Of Racnoss from the Christmas special 'THE RUNAWAY BRIDE' plus a Judoon along with many other fantastic exhibits spanning the previous two seasons. Doctor Who Up Close runs from 31 March-5 November.

HASLINGTON PRIMARY SCHOOL March 24th. The School held its Easter Fair but plans were afoot for the event to be invaded! Sycorax, Ood, Clockwork Droid and others.The invaders - courtesy of Hyde Fundraisers - made a guest appearance to support the School's fundraising by posing for photo's and greeting the many visitors. Staff at the school said the event had been a tremendous success and thanked their visitors from outer space! Hyde Fundraisers would like to thank Haslington Primary School for their kind hospitality and wish them further success in their fundraising for the school.

DARWEN March 10th. Dr Who Day returned to Darwen in Lancashire . Organiser Howzat - Dr Number 5 - SP!Graham Groom brought together guests that included Nicholas Briggs (New Series Dalek/Cyberman voices), stuntman Stuart Fell and James Bond actress Caroline Munro. There was also the first ever 'SURVIVAL' guest panel that comprised Lisa Bowerman, Will Barton and the seventh Doctor's assistant - Sophie Aldred! The event raised funds for Cancer Research and a mini auction raised over £300! Hyde Fundraisers entertained with various costumed characters that included the dreaded Ogron's and the Cybermen! With the event staged at Darwen Cricket Club even Dr Who number 5 made a guest appearance and certainly bowled over attendees with his costume!

CINEWORLD March 3rd. Hyde Fundraisers screening of Dr Who Episodes - Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday - proved a great hit at Cineworld in Ashton. The episodes shown on March 3rd supported the BBC Children In Need Appeal with kind permission from BBC TV and assistance of the Cineworld site in Ashton-under-Lyne. Merchandise was available, courtesy of Galaxy 4 and our special guest - actor Andrew Hayden-Smith (Jake from the episodes AGE OF STEEL/RISE OF THE CYBERMEN & DOOMSDAY) also came along in support our fundraising. The event raised over £1200 so far for the Children In Need Appeal. MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & IINDUSTRY February 17th & 18th 2007. With chance to get their own 'Virtual' photo, visitors also found themselves up against The Sycorax, Clockwork Droids and Oods - with protection on Syunday at least from K-9! The event raised almost a £1000 for BBC Children In Need which also included a donation of £200 from the Museum itself!

SPACEPORT January 5th 2007 - Our first event of 2007 was at the finale weekend at Spaceport,Merseyside of theDr Who Up Close Exhibition. The Exhibition had taken place since the end of September last year and it was fitting that we celebrated the launch and end of this popular exhibition. Characters making an appearance included The Sycorax, Ood, Auton and K-9 along with some classic enemeies in the shape of Ogron, Draconian, Exillon and Mandragora. Pudsey Bear also joined us to accept a fantastic donation for Children In Need from Spaceport with even more funds promised to support the charity. Our kind thanks to the Management & staff at Spaceport for their kind support and hospitality on January 6th.

HYDE FUNDRAISERS 21ST ANNIVERSARY - NSC, LEICESTER December 9th & 10th, Hyde Fundraisers celebrated their 21st Anniversary with an event at A New Series Dalek on display the National Space Centre in Leicester. Guests at the event included writer Rob Shearman and Peter Miles and courtesy of Tenth Planet Colin Baker and Shane Rimmer. The two day event was co-ordinated by member Les Hollis who ensured a variety of characters to meet the visitors that included Ogron's, Davros, Voc Robot, Sycorax Leader, Cybermen, K-9, Tetrap and Ood!! Also making a special visit on the Saturday was Pudsey Bear himself! Member Hylton Collins joined Peter Miles on a talk about TRIAL OF DAVROS and visitors could see a display of characters that were utilised in the filming of the Evidence excerpts. These included Draconian, Exillon and other display items featured a Zygon and New Series Dalek courtesy of 'this planet earth'. The Virtual Photostudio once again proved a popular attraction with visitors providing a unique souvenir from the event. We thank all those who came along to pass on their support once again and hope to see some of you again in 2007!

CHILDREN IN NEED - Ashton/Cardiff November 2006.Friday November 18thMeet Davros had Hyde Fundraisers at The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff supporting the appeal with the assistance of the UK Garrison. That evening in Liverpool, Wayne Broughton - with assistance of Ogron and Cybermen - presented our cheque for £4000 for the appeal. Saturday 19th of November heralded our return to Ashton with a special event at the Phoenix Market Hall!

EMBRACE WIGAN & LEIGH November 2006.Saturday November 4th marked aguest appearance at the Embrace Autumn Fayre at Platt Bridge, Wigan. The invading forces included Darth vader with Stormtrooper and a selection of Dr Who enemies that comprised The Sycorax, Clockwork Droid, Cyberman, Tetrap and Dr Constantine looking for his 'mummy'.The event proved a great success for Embrace and raised £800 to help them with their work in the community.

BLUE PETER October 2006. Making our fourth appearance on the popular BBC TVHyde Fundraisers chat with Zoe Salmon series, Hyde Fundraisers provided characters for a special feature on the programme which included Davros, Dalek, Tetrap, Zygon, Clockwork Droid and Sycorax. They appeared on October 30th along with a special recorded segment shown on November 1st. We were delighted to work with the Blue Peter Team once again.

CRYSTAL PEAKS SHOPPING CENTRE 22nd/25th October 2006. Hyde Fundraisers Star Wars characters  on our Virtual Photoreturned to Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre in Sheffield with an array of Star Wars characters. These included Boba Fett, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, X-Wing pilot and Royal Guard who were also joined by Pudsey Bear! The Virtual Photoscreen was also in attendance which raised over £500 ! Costuming group KOTE also assisted with some additional characters on October 22nd!

Clockwork Droid meets his fansTHE POTTERIES MUSEUM & ART GALLERY September 2006. The museum played host to Hyde Fundraisers for a special Dr Who Celebration day in aid of our nominated charities. Visitors were greeted by a host of characters including Cybermen, Sycorax, Clockwork Droid, K-9 and many more. Our virtual photo screen was in operation and proved to be quite popular with the visitors. The Tenth Doctor arrived via TARDIS to do battle with a Dalek & Ogron together with the Exillon's. The Museum was quite overcome by the amount of visitors to the event. With donations and photostand monies, the final total for the charities will be over £900!

NATIONAL SPACE CENTRE June 2006. The TARDIS arrived in Leicester on the weekend of June 17th & 18th to join in the National Space Centre's Sci-Fi Weekend. Guests that included our Honorary members John Leeson & Terry Molloy, and the sixth Doctor - Colin Baker - was also on hand. Making his debut was The Sycorax Leader and we also staged an impressive prop and costume display that included Timelord, Auton, Zygon and a range of monster masks such as Kraal, Voc Robot, Tetrap and Silurian.

Look who's arrived in Bessie !CRYSTAL PEAKS SHOPPING CENTRE 29th May 2006. Hyde Fundraisers appearance at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre in Sheffield certainly proved a huge hit with shoppers and visitors. Our selection of Dr Who characters were at the centre to generate funds for BBC Children In Need and The Calibre Library. The TARDIS arrived with the 10th Doctor while Doctor number 3 elected to use his trusty yellow roadster 'Bessie' to arrive. Luckily they were on hand to defend against an invading Dalek and Cyber army with the assistance of the robot dog K-9! We are delighted with the donations from the public and contribution from the management of Crystal Peaks which will certainly be a big boost to our charities. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT.

DR WHO MUSEUM 14th April 2006. Those that ventured to the Blackpool Dr Who Museum on Good Friday faced Daleks, Davros, Exillons and the Cybermen! The corridors were even haunted by an Auton & Voc Robot. But K-9, the Doctor's robot dog was on hand with The 10th Doctor - alias Chris Stone - and 3rd Doctor - Davros encounters Dr number 3.John Field - to defend visitors. Hyde Fundraisers were at the start of the Museum's Dr Who Weekend raising funds for BBC Children In Need & The Calibre Library. People also had the chance of 'instant' photos with The Doctor & K-9 and to buy tickets for THE BIG RAFFLE. Davros was forced to resort to arm wrestling to get his points across and when losing instantly ordered the dalek to Exterminate his rivals!!

SURESTART BUXTON 4th February 2006. Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Cybermen and Daleks descended upon Buxton on February 4th at the launch of the Surestart centre. Other activities at this community event included Penalty Shootout, Art activities and of course - meeting Sci-Fi characters courtesy of Hyde Fundraisers. The event raised awareness of services available to the local community and will also benefit our nominated charities.

CAMBRIDGE 9th December. New Lecturer Davros shattered the peace of Cambridge after Hyde Fundraisers descended upon the university for a special event. Where else could you have seen Davros pitting wits against Einstein ? The organisers were delighted at the feedback at the event and thanks to the Hyde Fundraisers team attending.

CHILDREN IN NEED 18th November 2005.Hyde Fundraisers were in action on Friday Hyde Fundraisers present their cheque with Terry MolloyNovember 18th to support this years Children In Need Appeal. First stop was at the National Museum Of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford which also launched its new Dr Who Exhibition area. This includes props and a Slitheen from the new series with a rather well stocked shop! In the evening we were joined by Terry Molloy who presented a cheque on our behalf to the appeal for £4000. Characters attending included Davros, Daleks, Cybermen, Timelords, Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Bikerscout along with R2D2. LIFE SCIENCE CENTRE October 2005.Visitors discovered the mysteries of the Red Planet, became space explorers when they visited MARS QUEST at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle. If that wasn't enough they had to contend with Daleks, Stormtroopers and even a Predator ! But Davros's plans to build a new army were thwarted and we were grateful for a donation to our Children in Need fundraising from the Centre!

DR WHO DAY 2 September 2005. Hyde Fundraisers are delighted to announce the Colin Baker presents the cheque to the NSPCC's Judith Hayesfirst cheque presentation from funds raised by TRIAL OF DAVROS, Sci-Fi Weekend 05 and other smaller events this year to one of our main charities - the NSPCC. The Presentation was made in Darwen at Dr Who Day by Colin Baker to NSPCC Community Appeals Manager Judith Hayes. The incredible £3,750 is the result of hard work by all in Hyde Fundraisers and goes to assist the NSPCC with their many projects. We thank Colin for Presenting the cheque on our behalf. SCI-FI WEEKEND July 16th/17th 05. Ashton's 2005 Sci-Fi weekend was given added Dave Prowse visits Sci-Fi Weekend 2005KAPOW with the appearance of the Batmobile and the Starsky & Hutch Ford Torino. They were joined by the caped crusaders, Spider-man, Predator, Darth Vader and Stormtroopers to add to this years celebration. An appearance on Sunday by Star Wars actor Dave Prowse added to the event together with lookalikes from Star Trek including Captain Picard himself. We also wish to thank Lynne and the team at the Ladysmith Shopping Centre for their kind support. The Hyde Fundraisers photostand proved another great attraction at the event which generated over £500 for the NSPCC & Children In Need. THE TRIAL OF DAVROS July 16th 05. We are delighted to hear that reports from Outpost Gallifrey and other media have indicated that the show was a great success. The enthusiastic audience enjoyed Terry Molloy once again in the role of Davros - recieving a rousing round of applause on his arrival on stage. The supporting cast also recieved compliments on their peformances including Andy Wisher, John Leeson and Peter Miles who recieved a warm welcome from the audience.

GENERATION JEDI April 6th 05. Members of Hyde Fundraisers attended filming at Elstree in London to record Generation Jedi. The show, anchored by Big Brother's Dermot O'Leary, traced his personal interest in Star Wars and reflected upon the success of the films. The groups Darth Vader, Sandtrooper and R2D2 all make an appearance in the show which was scheduled for transmission just before the latest films release. Special guest in the show is Dave Prowse who chats about his contribution to the Star wars mythology.

Kevin meets up with Lis at MemorabiliaMEMORABILIA April 2nd/3rd 05. The group attended Memorabilia in April and recieved a fantastic response to the new CGi photoscreen. This enabled fans to have their photos taken and superimposed on various backgrounds. We also had a prop and costume display and a variety of characters invading the hall! Thanks to all those who supported the photostand and our nominated charities - NSPCC and Children In Need!

The Ogron engages The Doctor at HullywoodHULLYWOOD December 12th 04. At the Vulcan Arena KC Stadium in Hull , the second Hullywood event proved a great success. Special guests included Jeremy Bulloch, famous in Dr Who for his appearances in THE SPACE MUSEUM and THE TIME WARRIOR - but no doubt better known as Bounty Hunter Boba Fett in STAR WARS! Hyde Fundraisers were delighted to attend alongside the UK Garrison to fundraise for Children In Need and local war veterans.

MEMORABILIA November 27th/28th 04. Thanks to the kindness of the organisers we were able to accept donations for Children-In-Need, take a replica of the new series Dalek and other characters to the venue. The rendition of the new series Dalek was the work of model and prop maker Andy Shaw who previously exhibited his creation at the DIMENSIONS convention. Actor John Leeson, set to play The Prosecutor in the show, gave up his time on Sunday to come along and support our fundraising. We also had some distinguished visitors that included Sylvester McCoy and Katy Manning !

BLACKPOOL TRIAL OF DAVROS LAUNCH September 24th 04. Hyde Fundraisers The Fundraisers with Terry Molloy in Blackpoolwere delighted to bring actor Terry Molloy to Blackpool to launch the Trial Of Davros. The stage show is set to take place on July 16th 2005 and Terry will be reprising the character once again. Joining Terry was former companion of the 2nd Doctor, Deborah Watling. The event was extremely successful with fans and members of the public venturing into the exhibition and meeting the guests. It also raised funds for the BBC Children In Need Appeal and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Thanks to the World Of Doctor Who Exhibition, Experience Design & Management and David Boyle for all their assistance.

ASHTON SCI-FI WEEKEND July 17th/18th 04. Once again Hyde Fundraisers took control of Ashton-under-Lyne on July 17th/18th for the towns Sci-Fi Weekend. Apart from the usual character attractions, this year included an appearance of a K.I.T.T Vader meets his match during Sci-Fi 2004Knight Rider car replica courtesy of Robert Pearson from Sheerness in Kent. A special Dr Who Exhibition was held in Arcades Shopping Centre featuring characters including an Auton, Silurian, Sontaran, Exillon, Tetrap and of course - the Daleks. The TARDIS also made an appearance along with the Doctor's faithful robot dog K-9. Also in the second unit on the Saturday was a special photo area featuring Spiderman, Lara Croft, Batman, Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, R2D2 and one of the Ghostbusters!! The event raised money for Willow Wood Hospice and Child Victims Support who also raised funds from their respective stands. There was also an appeal for donations which will be distributed between the two charities. After the final total of both collections and the work of the both charities, a total of £1000 was raised. Ashton Town Centre Marketing Manager, Peter Hawley, said "I think the whole weekend was a big success. This event has grown slowly but steadily and is now a fixture in the Ashton calendar."

Colin Baker gets caught up in Spidey's webTELFORD MEMORABILIA FAIR June 12th 04. Hyde Fundraisers attended Telford's first collectors event on Saturday June 12th. Guests included Jack Douglas, Caroline Munro and The Doctor himself, Colin Baker. We collected for the Child Victims Support charity and entertained with characters including Spiderman and he Cybermen! The previous week on Sunday June 6th we also collected at Stapeley Water Gardens for the charity 'Rainforest Concern' and our efforts raised enough to save an acre of rainforest!

Darwen invadedDR WHO DAY May 15th 04. Darwen proved a popular small event on Saturday May 15th. Guests included Caroline Munro, Mike Tucker, Peter Miles and Terry Molloy - fresh from having his head cast ready for Trial Of Davros! The event was supported by local fans who mingled with the guests, obtained autographs and listened to panels!

THE SPACE PEOPLE April 17th 04. Hyde Fundraisers attended the launch of Space Grimsby's Space People gets invadedPeople ,in Grimsby. The event was to promote the new storage service facility for the town, a brainchild of the parent company TH Brown. The event included quizzes for children, facepainting, and photo opportunities with the various characters. In addition to raising funds for the Mayor's charities, Hyde Fundraisers were delighted to accept a donation of £350 from Space People to be distributed between our nominated charities of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Guide Dogs For The Blind and Child Victim Support.

Goodbye Llangollen ExhibitionLLANGOLLEN DR WHO EXHIBITION December 28th 03. It was a sad day for many Dr Who fans for it was one of the last few days of the Llangollen Dr Who Exhibition. The 'End Of Time' event was organised by Fundraiser Ian Taylor, in association with Dapol, as a thank you and recognition of the support the Exhibition has recieved since it first opened almost 10 years ago. Exhibition Manager George Smith was kind enough to allow free admission to those who arrived in costume on the day. Despite freezing cold temperatures, sleet and rain the loyal and devoted arrived to savour the delights of the Llangollen Exhibition for a final time. Money raised totalled £117.57 for the Guide Dog Appeal!

Children In Need at BradfordBRADFORD CHILDREN IN NEED November 22nd 03. The Museum Of Film & Photography in Bradford held a special event in association with the BBC for the Dr Who Anniversary. This included screenings of 'Horns Of Nimon', the film 'Dr Who & The Daleks' and an episode from the new web story 'Scream Of The Shalka'. Many fans descended upon the museum in what was one of the few events on the actual anniversary weekend. Hyde Fundraisers attended & rattled some buckets for the BBC Children In Need Appeal once again!

BLUE PETER November 21st 03. Hyde Fundraisers were delighted to be back on theHyde Fundraisers celebrate on Blue Peter BBC's flagship children's programme to celebrate 'Dr Who's 40th Anniversary. The programme featured some introductory clips followed by a special quiz challenge in the vein of 'They Think It's All Over' where two contestants - one fan and the Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy - had to guess the identity of a monster. This was followed by a 'What happened next' section. There was then a quickfire question round with questions compiled by Hyde Fundraisers. The fan won by a large margin and the piece was rounded off by an obligatory competition to win a selection of Dr Who DVD's and a DVD player.

PANOPTICON November 1st/2nd 03. Our group was represented by HiltonThe good companions at Panopticon Fitzsimmons who attended as a Sontaran Trooper to entertain the crowds and the queues. We were delighted to recieve some great feedback from both guests and attendees at the event who were exceptionally complimentary about the group. Lis Sladen, Micheal Sheard, Katy Manning and Sophie Aldred were just a few of those who took time to pose with the lone Sontaran! In addition 'Dead Ringers' impressionist John Culshaw was highly impressed with the cloned warrior! Collecting for Children in Need in Arcades

ASHTON CHILDREN IN NEED November 1st 03. Hyde Fundraisers invaded the Arcades Shopping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne to raise funds for this year's Children-In-Need Appeal. It was also our tribute to the series 40th anniversary with appearances by some of the Doctor's arch enemies to include Dalek's, Cybermen, Tetrap, Sea Devil and other sci-fi characters joining in the fun! The collection boosted fundraising for Children-In-Need which started at Dimensions and has now raised over £500 for this years appeal!

WILLOW WOOD FIREWALK October 12th 03. Hyde Fundraisers once again came to the aid of Willow Wood Hospice to support their Event at The Village Hotel in Dukinfield. The dreaded Daleks once again made their prescence felt along with a Mos Eiseley Spaceport or Village Hotel in Hyde ?Sontaran and Heamavore to gang up on the Fifth Doctor! In addition they were joined by characters from the Star Wars saga which included a Stormtrooper, Bikerscout, Darth Maul, Boba Fett and Jawas!

DIMENSIONS ON TYNE !! September 13th/14th 03. This was the third of the successful Dimensions conventions. Organisers assembled an impressive guest list which included Elisabeth Sladen, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Nicola Bryant, Carole Ann Ford and Ray Cusik. Fundraisers Phil Robinson spent the weekend working on an impressive sculpt of Sutekh while other group members were shaking a bucket for Children-In-Need. We also took the opportunity to recognise the input of member John Field who has been supporting the group for almost 18 years. A special presentation photograph was presented by Ian Taylor to a delighted John at the event!

LLANGOLLEN DAY August 17th 03. North Wales was a great day for those at the Lost in LlangollenLlangollen Exhibition Centre. The sixth Doctor himself, Colin Baker, was on hand chatting and signing autographs for the many who had turned up to support him. In addition Hyde Fundraisers were around providing the usual array of characters plus a few additional attractions from the world of Star Wars! The group was raising money once again for Ovacome - the ovarian Cancer charity.

LONGLEAT DR WHO DAY August 3rd 03. Once again the sun was shining brightly onLongleat's Dalek invasion Longleat Dr Who Day. Visitors were treated to one of the biggest ever gathering of Daleks which patrolled around Longleat's grounds. Hyde Fundraisers also supplied even more villains in the form of Auton, Heamavore, Sontaran, Cybermen and more to entertain the crowds once again. Guests making an appearance were Colin Baker, John Leeson and Sophie Aldred. A special 40th birthday cake was cut to celebrate the anniversary! SCI-FI WEEKEND July 19th/ 20th 03. Ashton-under-Lyne was invaded by characters Ashton once again plays host to Sci-Fi Weekendfrom Star Wars, Dr Who and many more. Once again the benefitting charity from the Event was Willow Wood Hospice raising over £540. It was organised by Ashton Town Centre Management in association with Hyde Fundraisers. The local bakers, Trifles, crafted a superb Dalek cake with slices being sold to raise over £47! We were grateful once again to the UK Garrison through their representatives Simon, Phil and Giles who raided the town centre to search out rebel spies. It was also great to have the return of Robocop along with a superb 'Terminator' both courtesy of Steve Hird. Apart from the Fundraisers 'Genesis' Dalek we also had the Silver 'Death' version from Andy Loring and Gareth Nolan's Imperial from 'Remembrance'.
