WEEPING ANGEL FOR YOUR ROOM?
Don't Blink!!Those marvellous people at Spaceport manager Ken Moss is real the others are cardboard!!Carboardcutout.net have announced their next set of Dr Who releases that will be available to buy this month. Following last years launch which included Cyberman, Dalek, Martha, the Doctor and Dalek Sec they have 5 new releases to add to the collection. The first of these, which we are certain will be popular, is The Weeping Angel from Blink, followed by The Ood, Scarecrow, K-9 and The Master clutching his Laser Screwdriver!
HELLO SPACEBOY

Davros greets The Children Of TimeHyde Fundraisers joined in the celebrations for Spaceport's Birthday on July 26th & 27th. The group made another appearance at the site based in Seacombe which currently hosts The Art Of Dr Who Exhibition. Characters including The Ood, an Auton, Scarecrows, Pig Guard, Santas and Davros made an appearance over the two days. Also appearing A Noble face !!was our new 'Donna' character who found herself battling against the real Cybermen which also joined in the weekends events. Once ahain we were delighted to recieve donations for our charities - BBC Children In Need & The Rainbow Trust.

We shall also be planning a very special weekend celebration in November at Spaceport with a special guest or 2, along with the debut of our latest new Dr Who characters!!

HEROES & VILLAINS
Star Wars heroes & Villains invade HanleyHanley, Stoke On Trent, hosted a formidable collectionIt's no joke in Hanley! of Heroes & Villains on Saturday July 12th. The Central Library, on Bethesda Street, welcomed the Caped Crusader and Mr Incredible to celebrate the National Year Of Reading. Other characters that also made special guest appearances were Darth Maul, Stormtrooper and the wicked Joker! The event raised £700 for our nominated charities.
WORLD HERITAGE SITE EVENT
Its the Hyde FundraisersFans in South Wales were able to see Hyde Fundraisers in action on June 28th as we joined activities at the town of Blaenavon to celebrate their World Heritage Site Events. We Christmas come early as We recieve our donation from the local Mayorappeared with a selection of our characters at this free public event to add to the excitement of the day. Our characters included Scarecrows, Santa's, Ood, Clockwork Droid, Brannigan, Sycorax and one of the Pig Guards too! We were delighted to recieve a donation of £1000 from Torfaen Council to support our charities - BBC Children In Need and The Rainbow Trust.
DESTINATION DONCASTER !

On Sunday June 1st Hyde Fundraisers materialised in And they're off in the 2.15 at DoncasterSouth Yorkshire for their latest appearance.The Lakeside Shopping Centre hosted a menagerie of Dr Who characters attending to raise funds for our nominated charities and also the Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice. Visitors enjoyed meeting our scary aliens such as the Sycorax, the Ood, Scarecrow and the Dalek Pig Guards ! Also appearing was everyones favourite robot dog, K-9, who offered his protection to shoppers. The event generated £919 for the Bluebell charity and a great £1919 to be divided between BBC Children In Need and The Rainbow Trust.

OUR ADDITIONAL 2008 CHARITY!

We are proud to announce that in addition to Children In Need benefitting from collections/donations betweenAndrew Hayden-Smith nominates THE RAINBOW TRUST April and November 2008 will be THE RAINBOW TRUST. The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. They support 1,000 families each year. The Rainbow Trust supports families for as long as they need them - from diagnosis, through the illness and beyond. This secondary charity has been nominated by Actor & Presenter Andrew Hayden-Smith, familiar for his work on CBBC, BYKER GROVE and as Jake Simmons in the second series of DR WHO. Andrew kindly agreed to nominate this years additional beneficiary from our fundraising after previously supporting Hyde Fundraisers at our cinema screening event in March 2007.

Our events taking place in Birmingham on April 26th and donation from the Sheffield Superkids means we have already raised £750 for THE RAINBOW TRUST in this first month of them being our secondary charity!

SPACEPORT BLASTS OFF

Monsters across the MerseyTHE ART OF DR WHO opened at Spaceport. Merseyside on Friday May 23rd. The exhibition gives visitors an insight into Bannakaffalatta makes a new friendhow the new Dr Who series is created, from script to screen. This includes examples of how masks are created such as The Ood, visual effects and costume creation. To celebrate the opening Hyde Fundraisers made descended on the weekend with an array of characters that included the Dalek Sec Hybrid, Pig Guards, Ood, Clockwork Droids and Scarecrows. Also making his Wayne catches the Adiposedebut at the event was Bannakaffalatta still in his partywear from the Titanic. We were also lucky enough to collect some stray Adipose to return back to Adipose Industries!

Our weekend attendance has generated a further £1200 between our noiminated charities - BBC Children In Need and The Rainbow Trust. Keep your eyes peeled for details of more special weekends at Spaceport during the run of the current Exhibition!

MONSTER DESIGNS

When Cheryl met LouiseThe launch of the Spaceport Dr Who exhibition provided the perfect opportunity for one of Hyde Fundraisers costumiers - Cheryl Mellor (Pictured left) - to meet up with Dr Who series costume designer Louise Page. Cheryl has already contributed character costumes for the female Clockwork Droid, Auton Bride and Revenge style Cybermen along with adjustments to our Pig Guard boilersuits!

THE ART OF DR WHO Exhibition opened on May 23rd and showcases many of Louise's costumes created for Dr Who!

SHEFFIELD SUPERKIDS
Batman & 'V' make friends at the Superkids awardsHyde Fundraisers were invited along again this year to the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield for this years Superkids event. The childrens awards, sponsored by Sheffield Newspapers, recognises children who haveIt's Incredible !  Superheros accept a donation cheque from one of the Superkid winners! overcome adversity or shown an incredible talent or dedication. South Yorkshire celebrities were out in force to honour the area's top children in The Star's Superkids Awards. They included representation from the world of football, rugby, ice hockey and boxers who rubbed shoulders with musicians, actors and artists during the ceremony at Sheffield's Hilton Hotel. Hyde Fundraisers joined the celebration with an appearance of Batman, Mr Incredible, Spiderman and the character 'V' to enhance this years 'Superhero' theme of the awards. We were also delighted to recieve a donation of £500 for our nominated charities.
MONSTERS IN BIRMINGHAM

Sycorax Rock!The Clockwork Droid has time on her hands to say hello!On Saturday April 26th, Hyde Fundraisers materialised in the Midlands with a special appearance at Birmingham Central Library. The monsters were based at Centre for the Child, Central Library in Birmingham.

The event was free to attend and there was board games activities and much more for all the family to enjoy. Monsters on the rampage included Sycorax, Clockwork Droid, Ood, Pig Guards, Cybermen and Dalek creator Davros. K-9 was also present to keep order !

WILLOW WOOD BENEFITS

Friends and family of Colin join Hyde FundraisersThe 'Colin Ravey Memorial Event' on may 3rd certainly proved a hit with shoppers in Ashton-under-Lyne. Hyde Fundraisers staged the event in the memory of Colin who died earlier this year of cancer in aid of local charity Willow Wood Hospice. We were delighted at the generous donations that were recieved and it was great to see so many of Colin's family and friends come along to see us.

We hope Willow Wood Hospice will advise us of the totals raised very soon!

£9000 CHILDREN IN NEED RECORD BREAKER!
In the first 3 months of 2008, Hyde Fundraisers have already beaten their 2007 Children In NeedPudsey braves the Cybermen to help Hyde Fundraisers total by raising a fantastic £9000 for the appeal. The voluntary group were also delighted to have Pudsey's support to boost their fundraising at the start of the year. "We've had a fantastic first quarter of 2008 which has lead to us raising this amount so far this year." Said Hyde Fundraisers Secretary Wayne Broughton."We'd like to thank everyone who has made a donation towards this total and also the organisers of events which we have attended who have been generous with their donations and have looked after the team superbly. With 8 months of the year to go, we've smashed the amount from 2007 for Children In Need which was our highest ever" .
A VISIT TO THE LIBRARY!
Hyde Fundraisers proved a great attraction in HanleyPeace was shattered at the Central Library in Hanley, Stoke On Trent on Saturday March 29th with a visit from Hyde Fundraisers. Visitors confronted an array of monsters that included The Sycorax, Ood, Scarecrows, Santa's and the Dalek Pig Guards. Also on display was Davros addresses the Library visitorsK-9, Clockwork Droid and one of the Daleks! There was an appearance by our Davros, who was questioned about a return to the series but as ever, Davros would not reveal anything! In addition there was an appearances at the Potteries Art Gallery & Museum of a Classic Cybermen and a Dalek. The event was attended once again by Pudsey Bear who was delighted that it raised a £1000 for the appeal!
SUCCESS AT THE FESTIVAL!

On Saturday March 15thAuton Bride, isn't she lovely! Hyde Fundraisers attended the Cambridge University Science Festival. The group held a special Hyde Fundraisers display area Don't pork fun at The Sec Hybrid!where for a donation to support BBC Children In Need visitors were able to glimpse some of our characters and see one of our sculptors - Phil Robinson - at work on a future project for the group. Phil has already sculpted several characters for Hyde Fundraisers including Davros, Ogron, Ood and his latest to be making its debut in Cambridge will be The Pig Guards and Sec Hybrid! The Hyde Fundraisers Look who's creating BallakaffalattaExhibition area was hosted inside The Pitt Building where our Virtual Photoscreen was also operating for a limited time.Our display included our Female Clockwork Droid, Auton Bride, Dalek Sec and of course that well known blue Police Box. Characters making guest appearances included The Classic Cybermen, Scarecrows, Davros, Santas and the Sycorax!At the opening event with the Vice Stepping out for Children In NeedChancellor and Carol Voorderman were our very own Doctor & Rose joined by the Ood. We are delighted to announce that thanks to donations from visitors, Cambridge University and Tenth Planet, the event has raised a fantastic £4813 for BBC Children In Need - thank you to everyone for all your support.

REVENGE IS THEIRS!
Hyde Fundraisers filming for EastendersAfter numerous press reports and magazine articles we can confirm that in Valentine Week HYDE FUNDRAISERS appeared in episodes of EASTENDERS. You will see 4 of our REVENGE style Cybermen feature in an episode which was filmed in late November/early December. Filming took place in studio and outside the impressive St Paul's Cathedral - known for that famous scene from Patrick Troughton's story THE INVASION. They appeared descending the steps of St Pauls Cathedral on the Valentines Day episode. This was followed on the Friday with further appearances within the TIMELORD REMEMBERED Convention/Exhibition set up. The Dr Who backdrop served to play out the conclusion of the Stacy/Bradley relationship.
HELP THE AGED - WE DID!
In April 2007 our Honorary member - Neill Gorton of Millenium FX - nominated Help The Aged as our second benefitting charity. Between April and November all our fundraising was divided between both Help The Aged and Children In Need, events outside these months were Help The Aged - we did thanks to you!benefitting the latter. Having such a successful year helped BBC Children In Need with £8,500 but we have also raised a fantastic £5,500 for Help The Aged. On January 16th Millenium FX hosted a presentation to Tim Harman - Southern Area co-ordinator for Help the Aged - where members Sp Bowling, Mike Bargh and Neill Gorton presented our cheque. We would like to thank everyone who supported Hyde Fundraisers throughout 2007 to help us raise these fantastic amounts to help the work of these charities. We hope you will continue your support through 2008 and beyond.
FAREWELL UPCLOSE MANCHESTER

2008 got off to a monstrous start as we said goodbye to Journalist Nigel tries to impress the female Droidthe DR WHO UPCLOSE Exhibition at the Museum Of Science & Industry in Manchester. The Exhibition has been a huge hit in 2007 and we sent it off in style by raising funds for BBC Children In Need. Characters attending the finale included Davros, Ood, Sycorax, Scarecrows, The Doctor and the female Clockwork Droid. Former Coronation Street actor Nigel Pivaro, now a successful journalist, attended the event and interviewed some members of Hyde Fundraisers for a forthcoming feature.

We'd like to thank MOSI for their kind support and Milburns for all their assistance during our visits throughout 2007 to help our nominated charities.
